Meghan Markle Went to a Wedding on Her Birthday

Posted on

On Meghan Markle’s 37th birthday, she and husband Prince Harry attended the wedding ceremony of one of Harry’s oldest family friends, Charlie van Straubenzee, and his bride Daisy Jenks, at Saint Mary The Virgin Church in the English countryside about 50 miles south of London. The two sported sunglasses as they arrived at the church holding hands, Harry dressed in a suit and tails and Markle in a jaunty hat and colorblock dress.

Markle’s pleated $328 Club Monaco shirtdress featured an olive, pink, and white skirt, and her hat was by her go-to milliner Philip Treacy. She completed the outfit with her Aquazzura pumps, a knotted belt, and a Kayu clutch. Harry apparently wasn’t the best man at the wedding, according to some reports, instead opting for usher duties during the ceremony, and perhaps some reception responsibilities as well. Harry was a classmate of Charlie’s late brother Henry, who died in a car accident in 2002, and Prince William is close friends with Charlie’s brother Thomas, Princess Charlotte’s godfather. Both Harry and William are patrons of a memorial fund set up in Henry’s name to help Ugandan schools.

Also at the wedding were Princess Eugenie and her fiancé, Jack Brooksbank, who are also set to walk down the aisle later this year at St. George’s Chapel on October 12.
